No joke it’s April!!! That means a quarter of this year is already gone. Which means you might not be quite where you want to be. I don’t know about you, but for years I had a MIGHT problem. You see I was a card-carrying member of Might Club. Like Tyler Durden, Brad Pitt’s character in Fight Club who faced an inner battle, we are at war with MIGHT. So when I saw that El Arrouyo in Austin Texas had the rules for Might Club on their sign I had to talk about it. Unlike Fight Club, we need to talk about Might Club. Our membership to Might Club is keeping us from so many things. (see what I did there) You see the things (I can’t stop) that we don’t commit to we don’t do. We don’t do. Planning live events I’ve learned that people don’t do what they don’t put of the calendar. Might is just an excuse we tell ourselves so we don’t have to say out loud what we really want. I know I’ve been guilty of this. Have you? I might go to that event. If nothing else comes up that might work. I might finish that book. I might pick myself. I might take action, if __________ happens. I might do that if I don’t have to _____________. This doesn’t just affect our business we use this in out personal lives too. We put us down for a maybe. I will let you know later, it depends. Depends work for incontinence but it’s a terrible way to live. I am doing everything I can to help you not have to make excuses. I’ve heard so many people that might pick themselves. We’ve worked really hard to still put on an amazing event and make it affordable. I created a special early bird offer with the code “leap2024” that saves you 24%. So when I realized that I had ended the early bird pricing for The Thing 2024 events on April Fool's Day I knew that I needed to extend it until the end of the week. So you have until Midnight PST on Friday, April 5th to leave the Might Club and get your tickets for the Thing. Seriously you can save over $700 off of the VVIP Tickets for Orlando and over $600 off VVIP tickets for Nashville. I don’t want to be the reason anyone adds more excuses to thier life. So I’ve quit might club, the question is, will you? Former Member of Might Club, Terry Weaver PS - I just dropped Episdoe 100 of the Making Elephants Fly Podcast and it’s a solo episode. I’m Terry Weaver — business coach and idea strategist who specializes in helping remarkable leaders navigate the galaxy of entrepreneurship. My biggest goal is to help YOU discover what you really want and help discover the map to head in the direction and arrive at the destination. You desire. It’s the age old Spice Girls question I ask all my clients:“ Tell me what you want, what you really really want.” Almost immediately after high school I became a full time speaker speaking to students in middle school, high school, and colleges. During that time I accidentally found myself in the music business helping artists navigate moving their dreams from their garage to selling out shows and topping the charts. Standing on stage in a packed arena things began to shift for me.
We’re one week out from The Thing Nashville—and I want to speak to the tension a lot of us are feeling right now. The world feels uncertain. Heavy. Distracting. There’s fear in the headlines, noise in our feeds, and pressure to stay quiet, play it safe, or just survive. But you weren’t made to shrink back. You weren’t wired to sit this one out.You were called to create. To lead. To build something that actually matters. And if that’s stirring something in you, I want you in the room with us....
I’m a little emotional today. On June 2, 2017, the first Thing began. I closed the day, and we had Lee Cockerell as a surprise guest—he was the VP of Operations for Walt Disney World. My friend and brand powerhouse Leigh Holt spoke as well. Since then, we’ve had Disney Legends, industry leaders, best-selling authors, circus performers, and world-renowned creators all take The Thing stage. All with one mission: to help remarkable leaders do their thing. It’s wild to think that this year marks...
