The Real Parade is Tonight!

Yesterday was a whirlwind day in America. And today? It’s snowing in both Texas and Florida. But tonight, something extraordinary is happening: the planets—Mars, Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune, Saturn, Venus, and even our little Earth—are aligning. There’s so much going on in the world, but this celestial event is a powerful reminder of the bigger picture. Yesterday, as I watched the inauguration (I always pause to watch—it’s a tradition I never miss), the peaceful transition of power always strikes me. Growing up in D.C. and having a former stepfather in the Secret Service, I’ve always been captivated by the process. One line from President Trump’s speech stopped me in my tracks: “Ambition is the lifeblood of a great nation, and right now, our nation is more ambitious than any other. There's no nation like our nation. Americans are explorers, builders, innovators, entrepreneurs, and pioneers. The spirit of the frontier is written into our hearts. The call of the next great adventure resounds from within our souls.” Ambition and planets. I’m not here to talk politics, but that line felt personal. Ambition is what drives us to do the impossible, to forge ahead when others say it can’t be done. And that’s where the planets come in. Many of us wait for the “perfect moment.” We tell ourselves we’ll act when everything aligns. Well, guess what? The planets are aligning—tonight. And in about a month, on February 28th, Mercury will join the parade. If you’ve been waiting for a sign, this is it. This is your moment. It’s time to join the explorers, builders, innovators, entrepreneurs, and pioneers who are shaping the future. I’m not here to sell you anything today. I just want to remind you: stop waiting. The planets are aligned, and they will align again next month. But the future won’t be created by the government—it’ll be created by us. I know it’s that time between Christmas and New Year’s, and most people are trying to figure out what to do with those ugly socks from your cousin and when it’s finally okay to admit that nobody is going to eat that fruitcake. These last few weeks I’ve been looking back on the MAstermind in the Mountains we did in February, The Thing Nashville in June, and The Thing Orlando in November, and all of the amazing things that we’ve been helping remarkable leaders do, together. So thankful that we get to lead this amazing community. As we enter Thanksgiving week, I can’t help but pause and reflect on the incredible journey we’ve been on together. Leslie and I are about to board a flight back from Texas after spending a few days with her family whom we rarely get to see, in the closest thing to her “hometown.” I’m full of BBQ and TexMex and still blown away by all that God has done this year. We’ve spent 5 days home so far this month but November has been incredible....
