As we enter Thanksgiving week, I can’t help but pause and reflect on the incredible journey we’ve been on together. Leslie and I are about to board a flight back from Texas after spending a few days with her family whom we rarely get to see, in the closest thing to her “hometown.” I’m full of BBQ and TexMex and still blown away by all that God has done this year. We’ve spent 5 days home so far this month but November has been incredible. My heart is full—overflowing, really—because of you, this community, and the amazing moments we’ve shared together this year. Whether at one of our Thing events, at another event, or just engaging with my content throughout the year. This past month has been a powerful reminder of why we do this. Back in 2017, when I was beginning the journey to start the Thing, I wrote a manifesto, read the unfinished version at the 1st thing and just completed “The Thing Manifesto” right before the Thing Orlando 2024,, and I want to share it with the manifesto Poster we gave away in Orlando, and one of the big ideas: "At The Thing, we don’t settle for following someone else’s path. We create our own. Together, we’ve built a space where your ideas matter, where collaboration thrives, and where generosity runs deep. No one is waiting for you to do their thing, but we are all waiting for your thing to come alive." And that’s why I’m so thankful. You’re not just showing up; you’re bringing your dreams, your passion, and your creativity to life. You’re contributing to something that’s bigger than any one of us. That’s the work we are doing here. Looking ahead to 2025, we’re already dreaming about what’s next—new experiences, deeper connections, and opportunities to help you go further. I can’t wait to share more soon, but for now, let’s celebrate the magic we’ve already created together. I shared that we are going on Tour in 2025 and lot’s more to come. As we gather around the table this week, know that there’s always a seat for you at ours. You’re not just part of a community—you’re part of a family. Thank you for being part of this journey, for dreaming big, and for making The Thing extraordinary. Together, the best is yet to come. Don’t worry The Thing isn’t the ONLY thing going on, I have several book projects wrapping up, an exciting new membership release coming this Spring. Nothing to sell you, invite you to, I just wanted to say, thanks and we are grateful for you! What are you most grateful for??? With gratitude and a full heart, P.S. I’ve included The Thing Manifesto below as a reminder of what we’re building together. Feel free to share it—it’s the heart of everything we do. |
I’m Terry Weaver — business coach and idea strategist who specializes in helping remarkable leaders navigate the galaxy of entrepreneurship. My biggest goal is to help YOU discover what you really want and help discover the map to head in the direction and arrive at the destination. You desire. It’s the age old Spice Girls question I ask all my clients:“ Tell me what you want, what you really really want.” Almost immediately after high school I became a full time speaker speaking to students in middle school, high school, and colleges. During that time I accidentally found myself in the music business helping artists navigate moving their dreams from their garage to selling out shows and topping the charts. Standing on stage in a packed arena things began to shift for me.
We’re one week out from The Thing Nashville—and I want to speak to the tension a lot of us are feeling right now. The world feels uncertain. Heavy. Distracting. There’s fear in the headlines, noise in our feeds, and pressure to stay quiet, play it safe, or just survive. But you weren’t made to shrink back. You weren’t wired to sit this one out.You were called to create. To lead. To build something that actually matters. And if that’s stirring something in you, I want you in the room with us....
I’m a little emotional today. On June 2, 2017, the first Thing began. I closed the day, and we had Lee Cockerell as a surprise guest—he was the VP of Operations for Walt Disney World. My friend and brand powerhouse Leigh Holt spoke as well. Since then, we’ve had Disney Legends, industry leaders, best-selling authors, circus performers, and world-renowned creators all take The Thing stage. All with one mission: to help remarkable leaders do their thing. It’s wild to think that this year marks...
