Last October, I was too busy planning The Thing to celebrate my 50th birthday. Less than a month later, I was lying in a hospital bed wondering if I would get another one. On October 17th, I turn 51, and I want to celebrate by helping you get into that room. I know it’s my birthday and I’m the one giving the gift. Before I give you the details, I want you to understand why this matters so much to me. Last November, I was in Orlando for The Thing. We’d spent months preparing. People had booked flights, cleared calendars, and trusted us with their time. Then a day at Disney ended with chills, exhaustion, and Leslie getting me a wheelchair because I could barely get out of the park. I thought I needed a nap. As my conference was starting, I was being taken to the hospital by ambulance. I was in septic shock, my organs were failing, and I ended up spending almost two weeks in the hospital, with Leslie beside me and no certainty I’d ever get to do this again. But something happened while I was gone. Friends, speakers, and attendees took ownership. They gave their time, made decisions, and carried the event forward. The Thing Way showed up when I couldn’t. Many of those people showed up in my hospital room and in my life as I was recovering. We say people matter, that belonging is built, and that generosity is our default. Last November, I experienced those beliefs through people who showed up for Leslie, for me, and for everyone who had come to Orlando. We’d always said, “This is where doing it alone ends.” Then I experienced exactly what that meant. Core values: one thing to say out loud it’s another when it shows up in the community. That’s the kind of room I want you to experience. A place where someone notices you sitting alone and pulls up a chair. Where you can ask an honest question without having to pretend you have everything figured out. Where people share their experience, make introductions, and care enough to challenge your thinking. And where you have something valuable to give, too. Here’s my birthday invitation: From now through October 19, get $350 off any ticket to The Thing Orlando. Your Main Thing ticket is normally $497. Now it’s $147 for November 13–15, 2026, in Orlando. That’s three days of admission for less than $50 a day. In 10 years of doing The Thing, we’ve never offered tickets at this price. Our sponsors and partners are helping make it possible because they believe in getting the right people into this room. It’s simple: use the code TERRYISOLD350, and you’re in for the party. GET MY $147 MAIN THING TICKET Our sponsors and partners made this pricing possible, but only this week. I believe that God spared my life to help leaders live on purpose. At The Thing, you’ll find people who believe in what you’re called to do and will help you take your next step. Please don't wait until next time; make this YOUR time! Will you join us in Orlando? Terry
P.S. Don’t worry, the $350 discount applies to VIP and VVIP, too. Only 6 VVIP spots remain, including our private dinner and full day of whiteboard strategy and hot seats. |
I’m Terry Weaver — business coach and idea strategist who specializes in helping remarkable leaders navigate the galaxy of entrepreneurship. My biggest goal is to help YOU discover what you really want and help discover the map to head in the direction and arrive at the destination. You desire. It’s the age old Spice Girls question I ask all my clients:“ Tell me what you want, what you really really want.” Almost immediately after high school I became a full time speaker speaking to students in middle school, high school, and colleges. During that time I accidentally found myself in the music business helping artists navigate moving their dreams from their garage to selling out shows and topping the charts. Standing on stage in a packed arena things began to shift for me.
Two weeks from today, we’ll be together in Orlando for THE THING. Yes, I’m excited about the speakers, the conversations, and the Moments of Magic we have planned. But what I’m most excited about? The people. The speakers bring brilliance. But some of the best moments happen offstage. At lunch. In the hallway. Over dinner. In the hotel lobby, when someone says exactly what you needed to hear—and you realize you have something they need, too. That’s why I built THE THING. To bring people...
There’s cake-and-candles gratitude, and then there’s getting another birthday after wondering from a hospital bed if you would see another. This year, I’m feeling that second kind. I get more time with Leslie. More conversations with friends. More chances to help somebody see what’s possible. More opportunities to do the work I believe I’m here to do. At 51, if I know anything, it’s that stuff collects dust. Our relationships are a gift. The people who show up, tell us the truth, believe in...
“Yesterday I walked in not knowing quite what to expect, and I left knowing I had been in the kind of room I have been hoping to find.” That’s what Caroline Tiell of Pinnacle Counseling Institute shared after The Thing Roadshow. She ended her note with this: “At the end of the day, I walked away feeling like I had found the kind of community our organization needs as we continue to learn and grow into this next season.” That’s why we took The Thing on the road. That's why I personally do this...
