There’s cake-and-candles gratitude, and then there’s getting another birthday after wondering from a hospital bed if you would see another. This year, I’m feeling that second kind. I get more time with Leslie. More conversations with friends. More chances to help somebody see what’s possible. More opportunities to do the work I believe I’m here to do. At 51, if I know anything, it’s that stuff collects dust. Our relationships are a gift. The people who show up, tell us the truth, believe in us, and let us do the same for them—that’s worth celebrating. So here’s what I want for my birthday: let’s fill the room at The Thing Orlando and celebrate being fully alive and doing our thing. When I left the hospital, I promised myself that as I healed, I would live life fully alive. Recovery took time. I’m still learning what deserves my energy and what needs to come off the calendar. But I keep coming back to this: I was too busy to celebrate a birthday I almost didn’t get to follow with another. So many of you stood with us in prayer; you sent meals, checked in on us, and helped us financially during the almost 6 months I was recovering and unable to work. Some of you even ran The Thing without me while I was in the ICU. You stood with us. This is my way of paying it forward, helping make it possible for as many people as possible to attend The Thing. The greatest gift I could get would be to sell out the room! Man, knowing you might not get another birthday changes how you think about “someday.” I don’t want to keep postponing the people and work that make my life worth living. Maybe there’s something you’ve been postponing, too. I beg you, don’t wait for someday or next time to get to The Thing. Right room. Right People. Right information. Right now. Come work on the questions that matter to your business and your next chapter. Learn from speakers who stay in the room. Participate in conversations that help you see your work differently. Find people you can learn from, contribute to, and keep building alongside after you go home. Bring the business you want to grow, the idea you keep postponing, or the decision you’re tired of wrestling with alone. Come learn from people who share what they know, pull up a chair, and care about what happens to you after you leave. Bring your experience, your curiosity, and your willingness to help somebody else, too. And if you can’t make it to Orlando, you can still be part of what happens in that room. Pay a ticket forward. Maybe you know someone who’s been pouring into everybody else and could use some encouragement themselves. Maybe there’s a business owner, creative, or leader in your life who would come if someone helped make it possible. You could be that someone. I know a trip takes planning. I’ve worked with our partners to make the ticket as affordable as I can. My invitation is to look at your calendar, consider what you’re building, and give yourself permission to make this a priority. Choose your ticket by October 19, use TERRYISOLD350 to save $350, and clear the space to come do your thing. SAVE $350 AND GET IN THE ROOM Let’s celebrate life by living it fully alive. Life is short. Your mission matters. The people whom you serve matter. Pick yourself and get in the room. I’d love to see you in Orlando. Terry P.S. Don’t worry, the $350 discount applies to VIP and VVIP, too. Only 6 VVIP spots remain, including our private dinner and full day of whiteboard strategy and hot seats. P.P.S. Have the resources to help someone else attend? Reply to this email about paying a ticket forward or partnering with us—even if you can’t make it to Orlando yourself. Let’s build a longer table.

I’m Terry Weaver — business coach and idea strategist who specializes in helping remarkable leaders navigate the galaxy of entrepreneurship. My biggest goal is to help YOU discover what you really want and help discover the map to head in the direction and arrive at the destination. You desire. It’s the age old Spice Girls question I ask all my clients:“ Tell me what you want, what you really really want.” Almost immediately after high school I became a full time speaker speaking to students in middle school, high school, and colleges. During that time I accidentally found myself in the music business helping artists navigate moving their dreams from their garage to selling out shows and topping the charts. Standing on stage in a packed arena things began to shift for me.
Two weeks from today, we’ll be together in Orlando for THE THING. Yes, I’m excited about the speakers, the conversations, and the Moments of Magic we have planned. But what I’m most excited about? The people. The speakers bring brilliance. But some of the best moments happen offstage. At lunch. In the hallway. Over dinner. In the hotel lobby, when someone says exactly what you needed to hear—and you realize you have something they need, too. That’s why I built THE THING. To bring people...
Last October, I was too busy planning The Thing to celebrate my 50th birthday. Less than a month later, I was lying in a hospital bed wondering if I would get another one. On October 17th, I turn 51, and I want to celebrate by helping you get into that room. I know it’s my birthday and I’m the one giving the gift. Before I give you the details, I want you to understand why this matters so much to me. Last November, I was in Orlando for The Thing. We’d spent months preparing. People had booked...
“Yesterday I walked in not knowing quite what to expect, and I left knowing I had been in the kind of room I have been hoping to find.” That’s what Caroline Tiell of Pinnacle Counseling Institute shared after The Thing Roadshow. She ended her note with this: “At the end of the day, I walked away feeling like I had found the kind of community our organization needs as we continue to learn and grow into this next season.” That’s why we took The Thing on the road. That's why I personally do this...
